Week 3 of the January 2017 Term

Here is my weekly update! Yes, you read that right I have now posted for 4 weeks consecutively.  I know that I can continue with the momentum that I have built with the support of my family and friends.  I will most likely just use this as my beginning post as it has some really great info.

Fortunately, I'm in much better health that when we last met. Mostly I have just been busy at work and preparing for my birthday which is next Saturday. With my annual trip coming up, then I am really going to try this week to get things done a little earlier. Not going to try to pressure myself too much.

Onto my schedule 😊

Here is the list again:

  1. Accounting of my reading. Keep in mind that I must read at least 9 pages per day, for a total of 63 pages per week.
  2. I have started getting some grades toward my classes, so I will post them.
  3. I will post Week Three's schedule so that you know where I stand thus far.  Keep in mind that if the item is in green then it is complete.
  4. I will post Week Four's schedule so that you know what I'm faced with.

Here is goes:

Week 1 Read Week 2 Read Week 3 Read
1 1 1 6 1 13
2 3 2 0 2 0
3 1 3 31 3 9
4 0 4 9 4 6
5 7 5 5 5 2
6 36 6 2 6 12
7 18 7 22 7 24
Total 66 75 66
Goal 63 63 63

So yes, again I have achieved my goal. I was a little touch and go there up until the end. My previous issues were trying to sneak back in. Fortunately, my family was there for me when I faltered and I am thankful for them, even though sometimes they get under my skin.

So now for my grades:  I actually have some for both classes.

Week Two of Jan 2017 Term

Here is my weekly update! Yes, you read that right I have now posted for 3 weeks consecutively.  I know that I can continue with the momentum that I have built with the support of my family and friends.

So it seems that the sinus infection is over the worst part. Thank goodness, it was reeking havoc with my schedule.

Here is the schedule that I will provide

  1. Accounting of my reading. Keep in mind that I must read at least 9 pages per day, for a total of 63 pages per week.
  2. I have started getting some grades toward my classes, so I will post them.
  3. I will post Week Two's schedule so that you know where I stand thus far.  Keep in mind that if the item is in green then it is complete.
  4. I will post Week Three's schedule so that you know what I'm faced with.
Shall we get started:

Here is the break down of my Reading

Yes, I have accomplished my goal again. I even read quite a bit more than needed.  It feels good to have achieved my goal for two weeks in a row. Now to just keep the momentum.

Week on of January 2017 Semester

Well, here we are at the end of the first week of my semester. Time to check in to my progress.

First of all, look I did not forget to post my progress that I have failed at so many times before.  That for me is a victory.

Secondly, I posted last week that I needed to read a minimum of 9 pages per day to keep up on the reading.  so I present to you a charge of my reading for the week. Keep in mind that I was sick on Wednesday/Thursday with a sinus infection and on some very strong medication.

Date Pages Read Must Read
2-Jan 1 9
3-Jan 3 9
4-Jan 1 9
5-Jan 0 9
6-Jan 7 9
7-Jan 36 9
8-Jan 18 9
Total 66 63

Yes, you read that right. I read more than enough for the week. I feel very accomplished. This is one task that I easily get behind on.

Thirdly, how did I do on my weekly schedule. One will remember that I had several things to be completed.  Two introduction forums and responses, two discussion forum posting for accounting, a comprehensive exam and case study 1 for management.  Well I will post the list for the week to show my progress.

I will then also post the Week Two assignments so that I can have you all help me keep up with my responsibilities. Until nest week.

January 2017 Brings a New Semester

Hello,

Another failed semester in the books. I have no good reason for it. I let procrastination win.  I will have to retake those classes again. It does not make me happy but it is the reality that I face.

I have however, enrolled in a new semester. I have Advanced Accounting II and Strategic Management. Strategic Management is a retake as I let that one slide in the past.

I know the bad habits that I possess. I get to a point where I feel like I'm not going to get a decent grade and then I basically just give up.  This is not really an option now. I have put it out into the universe that I will be finishing my degree soon and now I must.

I am really going to try to keep up with my work and reading this semester. I have determined that I will need to read approximately 9 pages per day to complete the reading. Completing the reading is a very important first step in achieving my goals.  In the past I have let the reading pile up until I can not dig myself out.

So here it goes, I will post my week schedule. I will also post my grades weekly as a push in the right direction.  Since it is a new semester I do not have any grades as of yet. Please notate that anything in green is completed, blue indicates that it is partially done and black means it has not been started/completed.

So far this week I have completed some work already but I generally start the semester strong. Therefore posting my week, friends and family can call me out if I allow the slacker gene out.

I know that I can complete these courses and the rest that need finished for my degree.

In order to succeed, we must first believe that we can.

October 2016 Semester and Catching Up

I have not posted here on the blog in about a year. That was not intentional. In the time that I was gone, many things have changed. I changed jobs earlier this year. I know work for Capital One in the Fraud department. I have continued with my classes. I have had many struggles with keeping on task and even with finishing some classes.

Here is a run down of the classes I have taken since June of last year.

Accounting 201  -  B
Business Law  -  B
Principles of Managment - B
Microeconomics - B
Computer Concepts - B
Accounting 202 (1st Attempt) - Not completed (F)
Strategic Management  - Not completed (F)
Accounting 202 (2nd Attempt) - Not completed (F) - Actually worse than the first
Finance - C
Accounting 202 (3rd Attempt) -B

My current semester, I am taking two classes:
Advanced Accounting (ACC - 401)
Cost Accounting (ACC - 303)

My goal is to motivate myself by utilizing my blog again. I felt as though writing blog entries that did help with my accountability of completing work. I am a bit behind in my reading as well as my assignments.  So, this past Monday started the 5th week of these classes. I will attach the schedules for each week. (Green denotes that the work has been turned in).  Week 1 is completed.

Almost Midterms Again!

Hello,

It has been a while since I posted. I have been super busy with work, school, family and life.  Week 5 of this semester just ended and now I am in full swing of Week 6.

I have kept up really well on the assignments, a couple have been turned in slightly late. I am right on target for assignments and grades thus far which makes me very proud. However, the reading for each class is still behind. For this module alone in Business Law, I have six chapters to read. This would not be so daunting but they have to be read before the end of next week, which is midterm week. I have midterms on 7-16 through 7-18.  I am nervous because of the struggles that I have when taking a midterm or test in general.

I am learning a lot this semester in accounting. More about the differences between GAAP and IFRS.  Law is a fun class since that is what I wanted to be when I was a kid (a lawyer). And management is slightly easy, this is because the class I took last semester is a harder class in the management field that the one I am taking now.  It is easy to apply the knowledge from last semester into this class.

My grades have been doing well.

June Term, Week 2

Well, I have finished my first week of the new semester. I have completed all the assignments which is a good thing. The first two weeks brought nine chapters of reading. I have finished two of those but they were very long and both for accounting. Next, I am reading the chapters for Business Law. While there are four of them, they contain less pages that the accounting reading does. After that I will do the management reading.

I am desperately trying to stay on task this semester but it is difficult. With my kids getting out of school soon. I do not want them to be bored all summer because I have homework to do. So I took them out for some fun today. Read all about it on my other blog.  http://kangabounce.blogspot.com/2015/06/girls-day-out.html?spref=fb

With keeping on task in mind, I am going to get back to some reading. No grades yet to report. So I will leave you with my second week schedule.

If you could get up the courage to begin, you have the courage to succeed.
