July 2017 Semester: End Week Two

Welcome to the end of the 2nd week of my July classes.  I was working on homework last week and the time got away from me, therefore there was no post.  I am trying to get back into the swing of things by posting every week in order to keep myself accountable. Seems fitting since I am studying to become an accountant.

Lets get started with the weekly rundown shall we?

Weekly Rundown

1. Accounting of my reading.  Keep in mind that I must read at least 13 pages per day, for a total of 91 pages per week.
2. I will show my grades in my classes as I have them.
3. I will post the past week’s schedule so that you know where I stand thus far. Keep in mind that I the item is in green then it is complete
4.   I will post the current week’s schedule so that you know what I’m faced with.

Reading Achievement

Week 1 Read   Week 2 Read   Week 3 Read
1 13   1 0   1
2 13   2 4   2
3 6   3 27   3
4 13   4 0   4
5 0   5 0   5
6 0   6 0   6
7 0   7     7

Total 45     31     0
Goal 91 49% Goal 91 34% Goal 91 0%

My reading definitely can be improved.  I have today to make a dent in what it due for week two and then on to week three.  Overall for the semester, I have read 7% of the required reading.  If all of the reading had been complete, then i would have read 17% of what is required so far. Something to strive for next week and every week after.

Here are my grades so far. Not much was due during the first week so there is not much to look at.

The first written assignments were due this week for both classes.  Therefore by next week, one might see that my scores have risen a bit, but we shall see.

Well that is how things are going next up are this week schedule and next weeks. I completed everything in Week One. I am happy to report that Week 2 is complete as well. Week 3 is rather small in comparison.  I must concentrate on catching up on the reading. I have 5 chapters in Auditing to read before week 4 is over and four chapter to read in Advanced before week four is over.  That does not include discussion forums, case study, and written assignments.

Have a great week

July 2017 Semester: Week One

Welcome to the first week of my July semester!  I failed to post at all last semester.

Just to recap the April semester. I retook Cost Accounting and Advanced Accounting I. I received a B in Cost and unfortunately failed Advanced I again. I will retake it again later this year.  Now for a bit of additional bad news. Last semester, I passed Advanced II with a 72 (C-). I found out that I actually needed at least a 73 for the class to count.  Therefore, I am retaking it this semester and should be able to pass it, and fingers crossed achieve a higher score.

For the July semester, I am taking Advanced Accounting II and Auditing.  I have to read approximately 1,060 pages throughout the semester. This averages out to 12.6 pages per day.  My goal is to read 13 pages a day to achieve the reading required.  I will try again to keep up with

I will again try to keep up with posting each week to give an accounting of my week's achievements; however, if I am behind in my classes then they will take precedent over posting on the blog.

Just to remind everyone of my weekly rundown format:

Weekly Rundown
  1. Accounting of my reading.  Keep in mind that I must read at least 13 pages per day, for a total of 91 pages per week.
  2. I will show my grades in my classes as I have them
  3. I will post the past week’s schedule so that you know where I stand thus far. Keep in mind that I the item is in green then it is complete.
  4. I will post the current week’s schedule so that you know what I’m faced with.
Since this is the first week, I do not have much to present. The only exception is the week ahead. The classes officially start on July 3.  Happy 4th everyone!
